University of Miami graduate Justin Leiser is now working as a manager for NASCAR’s Event Marketing Services. He was able to get this job after graduating in 2011 by interning at Homestead-Miami Speedway and International Speedway Corporation.
During his time at UM, Leiser studied Media Management in the School of Communication and Sports Administration in the School of Education.
“The Media Management track within the University of Miami School of Communication is challenging as it is rewarding,” Leiser said. “While providing a strong foundation in the changing media landscape, the program stays progressive with new technology and media outlets.”
Leiser was also a part of UMTV’s Executive Board and SportsDesk. He said that directing SportsDesk during his senior year is his favorite memory from his time at UM.
Leiser’s first position with NASCAR was on the industry operations team where he traveled to different racetracks across the country, managing marketing activation and event operations. After four years of this, Leiser said that he moved to the Event Marketing Services group. He now manages the marketing relationships with track promoters and creates new concepts and programs to improve the event experience at NASCAR’s facilities.
“I was able to use the skills I learned at the University of Miami to achieve my dream job at NASCAR,” Leiser said.
