The School of Communication encouraged me to delve deeper into the field of public relations. I found myself engulfed in research; and that helped me to embark on a great career in the communications field.
Elizabeth “Liz” Amore received her master’s in communication in 2007 from the School of Communication. She is University of Miami’s former executive director of media relations.
Amore, who had been a media relations officer in the same department, was responsible for strategic communications and public relations for the university.
For eight years, Amore worked at UM’s Medical campus with UM-Humana’s Health Services Research Center and the Diabetes Research Institute, where she helped to coordinate research studies. Prior to that, she worked at the Lowe Art Museum, handling media communication, marketing and advertising.
She credits the UM School of Communication for helping her achieve her career goals.
“The School of Communication encouraged me to delve deeper into the field of public relations,” she said. “I found myself engulfed in research; and that helped me to embark on a great career in the communications field.”
Amore is also a published writer and a visual journalist whose work has been displayed at museums, including the Frost Museum at Florida International University.
