My career has been about the intersection of storytelling and technology.

Class of 2005 graduate Cindy A. Wong is now a User Experience Designer at Microsoft. Before becoming an interaction designer, she was a journalist, a print designer, and a social media consultant.

During her undergraduate studies, Wong was a Journalism and Geography major. She was also a part of the Asian American Students Association and The Miami Hurricane. One of her favorite UM memories was spending countless hours in design lab.

Between graduating from The U and going to grad school at NYU, Wong worked at the Miami Herald as a print designer. She then went to grad school for interaction design and earned her MPS Degree in 2011.

“In grad school I worked on a voice-powered zombie game, a Twitter-powered music chime, and created a crime-solving fitness game,” Wong said.

By 2011, Wong had already published and presented research on how people create and share creative content on the web at CHI, a prestigious design conference.  Since 2012, Wong has been working on Bing and Windows 8.1. Her work has been featured in The Verge, Engadget, and Venture Beat.

“My career has been about the intersection of storytelling and technology,” Wong said.
