Project Description
Virtually all cancer centers provide a link from their website to available clinical trials. Unfortunately, the information provided about specific clinical trials is difficult for ordinary people to understand, even those who are well-educated. In addition to translating information about clinical trials into plain language that can be understood by most patients, we have redesigned the patient interface to make study information easier to locate and understand.
The overall interactive and visual design of the site was created by Interactive Media faculty and MFA students. Cinema faculty and MFA students filmed and edited interviews with research study recruiters who briefly explained important information about cancer research. The website also includes animations that help explain difficult concepts. The result is a dynamic and visually pleasing site that provides multiple ways for audience members to get easy-to-understand information about trials and studies that are available at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and UM Health.
