Lecturer
Monica brings 25 years of marketing and advertising experience to the UM’s School of Communications. She started her career in La Paz, Bolivia working on the Brand side in the manufacturing and telecom industries. Her career flourished in ad agencies on global brands (Fortune 500 CPG) in the US and in LatAm, spanning Brand Strategy, US Hispanic consumer and shopper marketing strategy, as well as activation across a broad range of traditional, digital, and retail channels.
She returned to the US in 2008, focusing on the US Hispanic consumer and later branching into the shopper marketing strategy. She is a past senior leader with multiple agencies and listed in the Who’s Who in Shopper Marketing 2016 and 2017 with the Path to Purchase Institute.
Since 2018 she has served as a consultant to medium and small ad agencies in the U.S. supporting the account and strategy teams in navigating US Hispanic Shopper Marketing projects.
Monica is a mother to adult twins and to 2 senior cats.
