Join us for our fourth installment in a new breakthrough monthly film series at the Cosford Cinema focusing on current world issues such as migration and social inclusion, peace and security, aging populations, democracy, climate change, and artificial intelligence.

The series is intended to bring two types of audiences together: Movie lovers and people who care about current events.

The series continues at 5 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 25, with “Endangered,” a documentary that recounts the experiences of four journalists reporting in Mexico, Brazil, and the United States. The film documents a year in the lives of journalists who work in environments that challenge the freedom of the press. They risk their personal well-being and mental health to provide a sense of understanding in a world that is increasingly unbalanced.

Sallie Hughes, University of Miami professor in the Department of Journalism and Media Management and associate dean for Global Initiatives at the School of Communication, will engage in a thought-provoking conversation with Rene Rodriguez, manager of the Cosford Cinema, both before and after the screening, about the challenges confronting journalism and the necessary resilience to overcome them.

Admission is free but registration is required at link, https://events.miami.edu/event/global_frontiers_screening_series_endangered#.
