The Common Ground Courtyard at the School of Communication (SoC) symbolizes the First Amendment freedoms that are central to human communication – freedom of the press, speech, and belief.  These core values bind all communication together whether delivered through the airwaves, over the Internet, across borders, or in a town hall meeting. These freedoms of the press, speech, and belief are the defining attributes of our nation – our Common Ground.

Join with the students, staff, faculty and alumni of the School of Communication and reaffirm your commitment to these essential freedoms by supporting the SoC.  Your gift helps UM School of Communication students – who otherwise might not have the option to succeed due to financial hardship – thrive, excel and make a successful transition in to the professional workplace.  The fund will provide need-based financial aid to worthy students, and it will support other programs that will enhance their educational experience.

Give today and make a real difference in the lives of our students. Give now.
