Requirements

  1. Eligible student include undergraduate students majoring in the School of Communication and graduate students enrolled in the school’s academic programs.
  2. Currently enrolled full-time and returning with at least one semester left.
  3. Minimum 3.0 GPA
  4. Final commitments will be contingent upon successful enrollment in one of the four faculty-led study abroad programs listed below.

Timeline

  • Application Period – December 1, 2025
  • Awards Announcement – December 15, 2025
  • Reflection Essay Due – August 15, 2026

Application Materials

  1. Submit an application
  2. Program Proposal (not to exceed 250 words): Student proposals should address how the proposed study abroad site offers a new and distinct educational opportunity, justifying the significance of the intended experience. The proposed summer host community must be distinct from students’ home communities.

Students must be available from March 7-15 to travel to New York City.

  1. Must be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student of the School of Communication
  2. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
