Scholarships offered in Spring

General Requirements

  • Must be a student at the University of Miami School of Communication.
  • Must be currently enrolled full-time and returning with at least one semester left.
  • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
  • All Scholarships Require a resume and letter of recommendation. Please see below for additional requirements for each scholarship individually.
Open to Undergraduate students only
Public Relations students are eligible to apply

Additional Requirements:

  1. Two-page minimum double-spaced essay about the Ethics in Political Communication and Public Relations.
  2. Three letters of recommendation from faculty
Open to Undergraduate and Graduate students

Additional Requirements:

  1. Personal Statement – Answer the following question(s) in 250-500 words max: What is your learning experience about? How will this scholarship help you?
  2. Budget outlining how the funds will be utilized. Please note the funds will be rewarded the next following semester, therefore; the project will need to be held the following semester.

Open to Undergraduate and Graduate students 

Additional Requirements:

  1. Two-page minimum double spaced essay describing your personal background and interest in journalism.

Open to Undergraduate students only
Department of Journalism and Media Management students are eligible to apply

Additional Requirements:

  1. Two-page minimum double spaced essay describing your personal background, interest in journalism, and financial need for this scholarship.
Open to Undergraduate and Graduate students

Additional Requirements:

  1. Personal Statement – Answer the following question(s) in 250-500 words max: Please provide the following information on your intended internship: Position Title, Company, Location. Student Goals: Identify one – three professional goals explaining what you want to gain from this internship experience. Provide a short paragraph about how an internship at this site will assist you in attaining your career goals and how it will be a learning experience that enhances your academic endeavors.
  2. Budget outlining how the funds will be utilized. Please note the internship needs to be conducted over the summer.
This fund shall be used to provide financial assistance to students for internship credit, living expenses, and other related costs associated with pursuing internships.
