Yang Yi (she/her/hers) is now a third year PhD student in the School of Communication, University of Miami. Her current research, first, lies in persuasive communication, mainly focusing on designing psychologically effective and culturally sensitive messages in health and environmental contexts. In addition, she pays attention to lay people’s daily health information-seeking behaviors. Her goal is to conduct effective health promotions to increase their health awareness and encourage them to be active health information consumers. She is also interested in media representations of transnational women movements, as well as social media health and climate activisms, exploring the potential of representation to promote gender and health equalities and climate justice.
Yang has been committed to interdisciplinary and intercultural academic collaborations throughout her academic life.
