Ph.D. Student
Xiao Liang (she/her) is a doctoral student at the University of Miami’s School of Communication. As an international student from China, prior to attending SoC at UM, she received her M.A. in Communication and Media from the University of Leeds and her B.A. in Journalism: Advertising from the University of Oregon. Her current research interests center around strategic communication, especially influencer studies, brand sponsorship on social media, and child media literacy.
Before coming to UM, she also worked in advertising agencies for a few years. As a senior account manager, she has served local and global brands in a variety of categories including sports, tourism, beauty, and fashion. After she graduates, she hopes to continue doing research and contributing to investigating and solving issues in research and professional practices in advertising and public relations. Besides doing research, she enjoys music, food, traveling, working out, films, and fashion.
