Ph.D. Student
My name is Jiajing Tang, a doctoral student at UM School of Communication. My research area is computer-mediated communication (CMC). I am keenly interested in the effects of information and communication technologies, including but not limited to social media and online games, on people’s social interaction and connectedness as well as the underlined psychological mechanisms. My research paper regarding the role multiplayer online games play in interpersonal interaction and relationships was accepted by and will be presented at the 72nd ICA. I am currently conducting research on intergenerational CMC and also engaging in research projects about fake news on social media. I teach the course of Interpersonal Communication at the undergraduate level.
Before I came to UM School of Communication, I earned my master’s degree in Communication at Johns Hopkins University Department of Communication and achieved my bachelor’s degree in Communication at Communication University of China School of Journalism and Communication.
