Hongzhu Jin

PhD student Hongzhu Jin is from Shenzhen, China. Her interests are social media, visual, graphics, and nonverbal communication.

Earning her master’s degree at the University of Miami, she majored in communication studies and earned her bachelor’s degree in China, majoring in bilingual broadcasting (French-Chinese).

After getting her master’s degree at Miami in 2018, she began working with the Shenzhen News Group for 5 years. Her positions have changed from reporter, content supervisor, and office director to general manager assistant.

After she graduates, she hopes to keep working at the University as a researcher or a front-line journalist.

Some of her hobbies or favorite things to do outside of school are ballet, reading, traveling, and singing.
