Ph.D. Student

Dongya Wang is passionate about the intersection of corporate social responsibility, corporate social advocacy, and social equity for underrepresented groups. He holds an MA in Communication from the University of Oklahoma and a BA in Journalism from Sun Yat-sen University (Guangzhou, China). His current research was sparked by his previous experiences as a public relations practitioner. He has worked for several leading global PR agencies such as Edelman, Ogilvy & Mather, and Bluefocus. These experiences provided him with valuable insights into the industry and enabled him to collaborate with leading scholars in PR, advertising, and health communication which brought him to the School of Communication.

Prior to joining the PhD program, Dongya worked as a research assistant at Shenzhen University and the University of North Carolina Project-China. He has had articles published in several journals, including BMC Public Health, Journal of the International ADIS Society, and Frontiers in Psychology.
