Project Description
Facial recognition is a biometric technology that is somewhat new to everyday life, and its usage and popularity will only continue to grow with time. While the biometric technology has many benefits, there is one main issue common amongst the general public: does facial recognition invade one’s privacy? Depending on one’s political, personal, and ideological views, opinions on this matter vary immensely. This paper argues that while facial recognition is a technology that is most necessary for a safe and secure civilization, more laws and guidelines should be adopted to avoid the possibility of privacy infringement.
