Pete Johnson

Pete Johnson is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Creative Communication at the University of Miami. He holds a Ph.D. in Media Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. His research examines critical media industry practices, the history of U.S. television, and the financial structures underpinning media production. Pete’s current book project examines the historical development of television’s financial model from the early network era of the late 1940s to the streaming era of today. His work has been published in Media, Culture & Society, New Review of Film & Television, and Media Industries Journal.
