Ed Talavera, an award-winning cinematographer, has worked on a diverse range of films, including narrative, documentary, and immersive projects. His credits span various networks, including HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, ESPN, PBS, and have been distributed globally. Talavera’s films have been screened in theaters worldwide, including in the United States, Europe, and Latin America.
Notable theatrical narrative films include “Sue,” “Perfect Prey,” and “Bridget.” His feature documentaries include “One Water,” “Finding Gaston,” “Singular,” and “Naked Ambition: Bunny Yeager.” Talavera’s latest immersive 360 film, “5 Stages of Drowning,” has received international acclaim and awards at international festivals.
Talavera’s works have garnered recognition at prestigious film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, Tribeca, and Toronto. His unique and evocative visual style has earned him awards and international acclaim. Talavera serves as the M.F.A. Graduate Program Director in the Department of Cinematic Arts at the University of Miami.
In 2024, Talavera lensed two feature-length narrative films, “Rope Tied” and “Tropical Park,” which are set to be released in 2025. He also received a grant from the Doris Duke Foundation for his innovative work.
