Lecturer
Betsy Helf Mateu is a Lecturer in the Department of Cinema and Interactive Media in the School of Communication. Having worked at William Morris Agency (now WME) in New York for more than a decade, she represented writers for both and film and television, negotiated contracts with studios, networks and production companies as well as edited material. Betsy created the Children’s TV LIT department and specialized in moving playwrights to new media. She began her career at the agency in the legendary mailroom program. Prior to this, she was a NBC Page, working at “Late Night With David Letterman” and “Saturday Night Live.” She is a graduate of Boston University.
She currently lives in Miami Beach with her husband and two sets of twins.
