William Hughes earned an MFA from the Creative Writing Program at the University of Houston as a Cullen Fellow in Fiction. He began his advertising career with DDB New York and has helped create award-winning campaigns for some of the world's leading brands, most recently with Sapient and the Barbarian Group. He brings a passion for brand storytelling, creative strategy, and rigorous writing workshop methods to the classroom. Prior to the industry, he published fiction and nonfiction, served as the founding editor of a notable Brooklyn literary journal, and taught literature and rhetoric for the City University of New York.
