Ph.D. Student
Luis Garcia joined the doctoral program in the School of Communication in 2022. He focuses on journalism studies, violence against journalists, professionalization,
and journalism for social change.
Garcia earned his M.A in Public Opinion and Political Marketing in Puebla City, Mexico. As a M.A. student, he was part of the World of Journalism Studies, where he designed a
methodology to map the media operating in Mexico. In addition, he has collaborated in
academic projects related to journalism and violence in Mexico. Before joining academia,
Garcia was a journalist and editor in various forms of media. In his free time, he enjoys video games and technology.
