Project Description
Founded in 1923, the Strates Show is the last traveling train carnival in the United States. Passed down through three generations, the Strates Show is struggling to stay relevant in an era of technology. My theses project, “Just For Fun” was filmed over one month in Fall 2010 and offers a look into the past and present of the family fair which was once a booming industry. This was the culmination of a Masters program in Multimedia Journalism at the University of Miami. I used a Canon 5D Mark II and with the exception of the historical footage, I was responsible for the cinematography, editing, web design, and photography.
