Lecturer
Tiffani Knowles-Senatus began her career as a newspaper journalist over 20 years ago at The Miami Herald, covering art and culture, education, immigration, and other social issues.
After earning her M.A. in Arts and Humanities Education at New York University, she became a coordinating producer for a youth talk show, a New York City radio personality and a voiceover artist for clients like CNN, Merriam-Webster, LifeZone Television, CROCS and Discovery Channel.
Settling in NYC for over a decade, her career pursuits expanded to public relations consultancy for clients like The United Palace Theatre, Toyota Scion, Nyack College, Fashion Fete NYC and Kevin Harrington, the original shark of ABC’s “Shark Tank.”
Before being appointed full-time lecturer at the University of Miami’s School of Communication in 2023, Tiffani served as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York, Barry University and Florida Memorial University.
Outside of the classroom, she is a PR consultant, a leader in digital instructional design and a star freelance writer for numerous publications, including the award-winning, Black-founded publication, The Miami Times. In 2016, she co-authored the book HOLA AMERICA: Guts, Grit, Grind and Further Traits in the Successful American Immigrant, which chronicled 10 stories of ordinary immigrants of color who – against all odds – pushed past the limits of their humanity to become great successes in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
