Lecturer, UMTV Faculty Advisor, Sports Media Initiative Director
Ben Ezzy is a broadcast director and producer overseeing UMTV and teaching broadcast journalism courses at the University of Miami. He holds an MFA in Interactive Media and a BSC in Broadcast Journalism, both from the University of Miami.
Ben is passionate about TV production, live broadcast directing/producing, and content creation. His professional experience includes CBS Miami, Gray Television, Shake-A-Leg Miami, and The Miami Heat. He has also produced freelance video and broadcast work for organizations such as Shake-A-Leg Miami and the UMVerse VR/AR Initiative at the University of Miami. Most recently, Ben directed and co-produced a documentary about the History of UMTV.
Ben teaches field and studio production courses, broadcast producing and directing, broadcast writing, and mobile/digital storytelling and content creation. He oversees the function, growth, and vision of UMTV, manages the UMTV E-Board, and serves as the faculty advisor for UMTV shows, programs, and special presentations. He is the Director of the School of Communication’s Sports Media Initiative, where he advises students in the Sports Media Minor and develops multi-platform sports media projects.
