Media and backlash movements: A Global and Holistic Research Perspective Since 2010, backlash movements with retrograde objectives have gained global traction, advocating for the reversal of rights and a return to prior social conditions often marked by nationalism, xenophobia, racism, and anti-democratic goals. This presentation explores the role of the news media in contextualizing such movements and fostering democratic stability.
