Behind the Campaign: Negotiating Identity in Advertising Practice Broadly, while extensive research has been conducted on consumer responses to advertising, comparatively little attention has been given practitioner perspectives. Media and backlash movements: A Global and Holistic Research Perspective Since 2010, backlash movements with retrograde objectives have gained global traction, advocating for the reversal of rights and a return to prior social conditions often marked by nationalism, xenophobia, racism, and anti-democratic goals.
