We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with the International Documentary Association (IDA) as one of their Community Hubs for their Getting Real 2022 Conference.
Getting Real is a biennial conference unlike any other event on the documentary calendar. Now in its fifth edition, this gathering brings documentary filmmakers and industry professionals together in a communal space where they can build lasting relationships, encounter inspiring ideas, and host constructive conversations about the many challenges facing our growing community. This year, Getting Real will be a hybrid conference, happening both in-person in Los Angeles and virtually with Community Hubs around the world.
UM students and faculty will be able to attend the conference virtually, for free, at the Bill Cosford Cinema on Tuesday 9/27 from 2:30-8:30 p.m., and Wednesday 9/28 from 10:15 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Sessions last 1 hour and 15 minutes, while keynote presentations are 30 minutes long.
Keynote speakers include filmmakers, Erika Dilday (Executive Producer POV), and Nanfu Wang (Director of One Child One Nation, 2019).
