We cover geographic centers including New York, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami and Atlanta, and our team includes a mix of senior and more junior reporters working collaboratively with editors across the country. Our team is committed to quality journalism and innovative thinking as we cover this area for a demanding and sophisticated business audience.
Responsibilities

Social Media & Research Internship, Journey Beyond Aspen Magazine and Epicurean Exploring Radio Podcast, Remote
Looking for a go getter who wants to gain some experience for their resume in social media, publishing, PR and marketing.
Just so you know about me:
Grew up in East Brunswick, NJ
Graduated from U of Miami in 1990, (Psych and Communications major)
- Started out working in Sports PR in NYC. First salary was $16,500 ( I knew nothing about PR)
- Then, worked for American Express - producing events.
- Then, worked for a sports marketing agency, repping NFL quarterbacks.
- Then, started my own event marketing company – www.newleafevents.com, - wound up bi-coastal - with apartments in NYC and Manhattan Beach, CA (check out my OLD website)
- Then, worked on Winter Olympic Winter games, as a producer – and wound up on The Today Show!
- Then, moved to Aspen and decided to try for a career in travel writing…wound up working out and also got a gig on a radio show talking about dining around the world.
NOW – currently living in Huntington Beach CA, editor of a luxury travel print magazine ( check out the digital version on www.journeybeyondaspen.com) and host an internet radio show - Epicurean Exploring on Healthy Life.net
I have LOTS going on as I grow these two fairly new endeavors and could use some help. What better way than reaching out to my SDT sisters!
So this is what I am in need of!
Looking for a few interns to bring their “game” to assist in growing the social media presence to both Journey Beyond Aspen Magazine and Epicurean Exploring.
- Create a strategy for the IG and website following to grow.
- Help manage IG account (s) - Select amazing photos or videos (content) to be posted and tags. Maybe even just for the story aspect…based on current content that the magazine or the show features.
- For EE – be a part by researching products for the MUST HAVE segment on EE. On each segment of EE, I feature products that I have tried and endorse. Can be any category – tent, eyelash curler, candle, face mask, blanket, hammock, ski goggles….( for this part, I would love for YOU to receive some of the products, and join me on the show for the segment to talk about it, and or video yourself about it – you can see on the IG Gabby Ulgrade did a few of these for me).
- Update PR agency contact list. I will give you a list of luxury PR agencies and need you to call and update ( email, address, name…).
- Research/create a list of tourism agencies from a list I will supply ( easy to google) and supply name of marketing contact, email, phone address.
- Research Ad agencies for luxury products representation or in house for media buyers.
The JBA website is currently being updated and Epicurean Exploring website is currently being built.
If you are confirmed for this internship, I will review in more detail what to do – how….
This is not a paying internship, - but you will gain experience, and it will be a resume booster which, of course, all companies love to see experience. Plus – I welcome ideas and creativity. Always.
(Google my name and look at JBA and EE) and then if interested, email me about yourself and what you could bring to the position!
Thank you!
