When Amber Robertson, B.S.C. ’12, graduated from the University of Miami, she had no idea what she wanted to do or who she wanted to be. The only thing she did know was that she wanted to leave her hometown of Miami behind to find opportunity and adventure. Seven years, two cities, and eight job titles later, Robertson visited UM last week to give career advice to anxious undergrads.

She came to the South Florida noncommercial television station with considerable sales experience in the private sector, including a three-year stint as an account executive at ESPN.
On March 6, the Media Management Association (MMA) welcomed Devin Rogan, associate director at the University of Miami Toppel Career Center, to discuss personal LinkedIn branding strategy. Coming from a corporate recruiting background, Rogan fully understood the importance of LinkedIn as a valuable means of "showing off" one's professional image.
The Media Management Association welcomed its first guest speaker of the year, Paul Vignau, the director of sales at Comcast Spotlight who was accompanied by Henry Ortiz, an associate account executive and University of Miami (UM) alumnus. Spotlight is Comcast's advertising sales division where Vignau and his team monetize viewer impressions.
Although he may be better known as the voice of the The Band of the Hour, University of Miami School of Communication alumnus Jason Mizrachi stopped by the campus in early December to discuss digital TV sales and dispense valuable career advice to members of the Media Management Association. Mizrachi has done it all, working in sales and marketing for over 22 years.
