Hands down the best Journalism program in the nation.

“Hands down the best Journalism program in the nation. All of our professors truly cared about us and wanted to see us succeed. I would not trade my experience at The U for anything,” says Herbert Eaford, a 2000 School of Communication graduate and Daytime Emmy Award nominated show producer for E! News.

Herbert Eaford’s journalism career began at age 15 in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, where he worked as a junior reporter for CBS-42 (WBMG). He earned his Bachelor of Science in Communication degree from Tennessee State University, and a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Miami.

During his time as a Hurricane, Eaford was a part of UMTV, the university’s award-winning cable television channel. He then went on to intern for CNN International, Gospel Today Magazine, and Benson Music Group. Eaford’s time as a student has left him with lasting memories of the fun he had while learning at UM.

“Working on projects in “The Bunker” with my classmates. Such wonderful memories,” says Herbert.

Today, Herbert Eaford is a producer for the Emmy-nominated daytime program E! News in Los Angeles, California.
