The study and practice of photography and motion picture production in Greece. These courses are taught in Athens, Santorini, Mykonos and Samos. The variety of geographic landscapes that the courses offer adds to the diversity of perspectives from which students can learn.
This program is open to students of all majors at all levels of experience. We will work with each student at their experience level.

CCA 594/695 Special Topics in Motion Picture: Film Production (3 credits):
The study and practice of motion picture production in Greece. Students will gain advanced production knowledge as they pre-produce, produce and post a group film and individual digital projects. Lectures and demonstrations will explore the issues of producing a film in a foreign country, location lighting, working with advanced digital cinema motion picture equipment and effective post-production procedures. Workshops and lectures by local guest professionals are included.
CCA 407/608 Film, Society and Culture: Greek Cinema (3 credits):
The course will explore film as an artistic means of expression of contemporary Greek culture. Through film screenings, discussions and lectures students will explore a range of older and current Greek films to gain knowledge on major cinematic movements which reflect social, political, economic and cultural trends in Greece.
