The Campaigns Manager will lead and manage the development and the implementation of the #NotInOurGame campaign, as detailed in the Mission 89 Child Trafficking Awareness Raising Educational Toolkit, which aims to empower youth with information on the legitimate pathway to a career in sports and protect them from unscrupulous agents. In addition, the Campaigns Manager will be responsible for devising and implementing a media strategy and plan to support research and our broader advocacy agenda.

In the first month, the successful candidate will focus on further developing the concept of the Mission 89’s #NotInOurGame campaign ensuring that all components necessary for successful implementation are in place, including a Communications & Funding Strategy, Monitoring and Evaluation Framework and its supporting templates, marketing collaterals etc. Finally, the role will be expected to build and develop external relationships with decision makers across a wide range of sectors and with current and future partner organisations (including funders and donors) that support and can help us to achieve our mission.

Specifically

  • Define campaign goals and objectives and related KPIs
  • Identify relevant communications tools, traditional and new media, public information, to communicate with target audiences to achieve campaign objectives
  • In conjunction with the Communications & Marketing Team, design, create and use a range of communications tools (traditional and new media, briefing sheets and public information, and other tools) to communicate with target audiences to achieve campaign objectives
  • Actively identify opportunities in global, continental, national and specialist media to achieve coverage, profile and features for the campaign
  • Initiate and maintain good working relationships with editors, journalists and broadcasters
  • Write and edit copy for press releases and ensure effective distribution and follow up
  • Help plan events to raise awareness of child rights and trafficking in sport and coordinate and manage arrangements for campaign activities as required, including information gathering and facilitation
  • Prepare briefings and updates to inform team (and stakeholders) on progress and outcomes as required
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of #NotinOurGame facilitators and volunteers in the team to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of campaigns
  • Establish communication and ensure collaboration with relevant sport bodies and authorities i.e., Continental Sport Bodies, UN, NGOs, etc.
  • Other tasks as required.

Key Skills Required for the Role

  • Ability to work constructively independently, and co-operatively with other team members, a must
  • Graduate or possess a relevant qualification or appropriate experience in a related role, a must
  • Minimum 3 years’ successful experience of working in a public affairs, sport administration and/or communications role, a must
  • Understanding of the political, cultural and social environments affecting child rights and human trafficking, necessary
  • Ability to use initiative and creativity in devising campaign strategies and achieving objectives, necessary
  • Ability to understand the use of information in support of campaign objectives, necessary
  • Knowledge of the football sector, important
  • Photo/film editing skills, desired

Eligibility

  • This is a part-time unpaid volunteer position
  • Available to work 15-20 hours per week (according to workload).
