Project Description

The University of Miami Public Relations Experience program worked with the NHL Florida Panther’s for the 2013 Rookie Tournament and 2013-14 Training Camp and official Media Day. Students were responsible for all media operations including check-in and tournament media relations and social media. PREP students had the opportunity to interview fans as well as players and transcribed their interviews for the Panther’s PR staff. Other responsibilities included: recaps for players and tournament play and escorting the media and hockey players. PREP managers and students at the Saveology.com Iceplex enjoyed working with the press and interacting with fans.

During Media Day and the Training Camp at the BB&T Center in September, the PREP students worked with the PR staff to assist with interviews of the key players and coaching staff for local media. During pre-season games, students assisted with gameday media operations and social media. Key students also had the opportunity to write website feature stories as well.
