A new undergraduate major is now available at the University of Miami School of Communication. In fall of 2018, the SoC began offering the Interactive Media major, equipping students with design skills and a technological fluency that allows them to explore the expressive possibilities offered by emerging forms of communication.
The UM Debate team dominated its competition at the National Opener hosted by Georgia State University in Atlanta, one of the largest and most intensely competitive intercollegiate policy debate tournaments in the country. This year’s tournament, held from September 15-17, saw the UM Debate Team winning two of the three championships offered by the event. Harvard won the third.
What began as an independent film project in Greece headed by a group of UM students, alumni and faculty quickly spiraled into an internationally-recognized LGBTQ love story. With a Kiss I Die — the story of the reincarnated vampire Juliet Capulet who finds love all over again with a young woman — is now available to buy through most streaming services, cable networks and select stores.
On Aug. 16, the University of Miami School of Communication welcomed its new class of graduate students. Graduate orientation for the fall 2018 semester introduced students to the school, faculty, and staff, as well as provided them with a wealth of information to make the transition to graduate school as smooth as possible.
A night of glitz and glamour in Hollywood highlighted a two-day adventure on the west coast for 12 University of Miami School of Communication students studying motion pictures.
