The Majeri Award for Graphics Journalism recognizes innovation and leadership in the graphic journalism industry. Presented by the Ball State University Department of Journalism in Muncie, Ind., the award is given to an individual who has created a body of work that improves graphics reporting.
In the rural part of Haryana, an Indian state with more than 5,000 years of culture and tradition, the fields are sown and reaped by the agrarian community that calls the region home. Within this pastoral setting sits Ashoka University, a liberal arts college that opened in 2015 with a robust campus life that differs vastly from its rural surroundings.
The Miami Hurricanes are taking over the 2018 Miami Film Festival taking place on March 9-18, 2018. A total of eight films produced, edited, and directed by UM students, faculty, and alumni will be competing throughout the festival.
Fall 2017 Visiting Knight Chair, Lindsay Grace, concluded his residency at the University of Miami School of Communication with the Game Design Thinking and the Newsroom Interactive Workshop at American University in Washington D.C. The event was attended by members of the winning team from UM’s Newsjam, which consisted of Nicole Barba, Chabeli Castillo, Carlos Gonzalez, and Stephano Cardona.
