The 2016 Ibis yearbook edited by Emily Eidelman was named a Yearbook Pacemaker Finalist by the Associated Collegiate Press at the University of Minnesota in Jan. 2017.

“This is an outstanding honor for the Ibis to be named a Yearbook Pacemaker Finalist along with 10 other college publications. This is our 14th Yearbook Pacemaker Finalist. The Ibis yearbook has won a Pacemaker honor from ACP ten times.,” said Randy Stano, Ibis adviser and University of Miami School of Communication professor of practice in journalism and media management.

Five ACP judges determined the 11 finalists on a list of characteristics including engagement, strong design, strong photography, and complete campus coverage.

“I am very proud of the staff. This is good news for all the hard work, effort, and dedication put in by last year’s staff. Emily Eidelman and her staff produced a yearbook that is now in short demand because of its popularity. The staff deserves to recognized nationally,” says Stano.

The other Yearbook Pacemaker Finalists are from Harding University, Loyola Marymount University, Indiana University, Kansas State University, Western Kentucky University, Michigan State University, North Carolina State University, University of Oklahoma, and Texas Tech University.

The Pacemaker winners will be announced during the Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association National College Media Convention in Dallas, Oct. 25-29, 2017. The judge’s comments about each finalist and winner will be released at that time.
