The University of Miami School of Communication is seeking a paid Graphic Design Student Assistant to work 5 hours a week ($15/hour) beginning Fall 2026. The position has the possibility of extension on a semester-to-semester basis.
The Graphic Design Student Assistant will work under the guidance of the School of Communication’s Director of Digital Engagement and Graduate Enrollment Strategy to create compelling visual content for the School of Communication’s digital and print materials. This hybrid role offers hands-on experience in branding, marketing, and event promotion, with opportunities to contribute to real projects that support the school’s social media presence, graduate recruitment efforts, and campus events. This role provides valuable portfolio-building experience, including:
- Digital Design: Create eye-catching graphics for social media platforms and the SoC website that align with UM branding.
- Print Collateral: Design promotional materials such as posters and flyers for School-wide events, including Stein Family Career Office Career Week and more.
- Branding and Visual Identity: Develop content that supports graduate recruitment and other marketing campaigns, following visual identity guidelines.
- Creative Collaboration: Work closely with the Digital Engagement team to brainstorm and execute design solutions, with regular check-ins and feedback.
Open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students studying at the University of Miami. Preference will go to students studying in the School of Communication.
Weekly 1-hour, in person meetings are required. The remaining weekly hours can be worked remotely.
