The George P. Hanley Democracy Center, a research center at the University of Miami, welcomes applications for interns for the Fall 2026 semester.

Available Roles:

  • Civic Synergy: assist student discussion groups as they formulate joint policy proposals.
    • Must be available on Monday evenings between 5pm – 8pm.
  • Communications: assist with advertising Hanley Center events, develop the Center’s online content, and work with local media.
  • Events: assist with organizing and conducting public events by the Center.

Details:

  • Eligible applicants may receive course credit (POL 481) as Hanley Center interns.
  • Applicants must be prepared to commit ten hours per week in person, between the hours of 9am – 5pm, and to be available for a weekly meeting every Friday at 10am.
