Spring Internships (For School Credit) – January 2024 to May 2024

Are you interested in a career in entertainment publicity? We are looking for unique and passionate candidates to join the Shore Fire Spring internship program (Unpaid for school credit).

The Publicity Intern will assist their team in all aspects of daily publicity duties, including compiling daily press clips, maintaining and updating publicity resources, researching appropriate journalists for campaigns, drafting press notes, and more.

Additionally, our educational enrichment program gives our interns real-world, hands-on experience of being a publicist. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience as part of a top entertainment PR firm and learn the inner workings of entertainment publicity. Shore Fire represents top artists and culture makers in their fields as well as emerging acts from all genres.

**This is an unpaid, college credit-only position. All applicants must provide documentation showing that they are eligible to receive academic credit for this internship**

LOCATION

Interns near Los Angeles, CA, and New York/Bronx, NY, will be able to work on a hybrid schedule.

Interns who are not near these two cities will be able to work remotely.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Drafting and preparing writing assignments, including press releases, press notes, and tour dates in mass email programs (Constant Contact & MaxBulk)
  • Daily press clip sweep of Google News Alert and client’s social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Press clip creation (PDF)
  • Create press report shells and data entry for clients
  • Media databases additions, media list tags, and bounce back updates
  • Update Shore Fire press pages with clip links and additional assets
  • Update client’s press schedules and/or master schedule for multi-artist events
  • Attend staff meetings and intern enrichment programs as scheduled
  • Research/audits

EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT INCLUDES

  • Regular check-ins with supervisors
  • One-on-one resume review session with a senior staff member to help prepare you for an entry-level position post-internship
  • Attend our internship program, which consists of biweekly calls with industry guest speakers from all sides of the music industry; guest speakers perform “Ask Me Anything” sessions with interns
  • Thorough editing and lecture sections on provided writing drafts, which you can use as a personal writing sample going forward
  • Join the team on a minimum of one account. You will be on copy for all communication and on regular calls/Zooms pending scheduling so that you become familiar with the inner workings of a PR campaign.
  • Meeting with your supervisor on the pitching process from start to finish, pitching as directed.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Interns must be able to work between 10-20 hours per week, with a minimum of 3 hours per daily shift
  • Interns must be available during the working hours of 10 am – 6 pm Eastern time.
