Key Objective
The Editorial Assistant is responsible for providing high-level editorial, creative project management and
administrative support to the Editor In Chief.

Supervision and Communication
The Editorial Assistant will report into the Editor In Chief and will communicate with her on a regular basis
regarding day-to-day priorities.

Essential Responsibilities
• Provide creative project management and administrative support to the Editor in Chief.
• Have a deep understanding of, and coordinate/project manage all EIC and editor-involved brand
events.
• Coordinate EIC presentations, including panel presentations and DESIGN TV tapings.
• Attend weekly Editorial Leadership team meeting and maintain the agenda for this meeting.
• Calendar management including coordinating and supporting all internal and external meetings.
Strategizing EIC’s schedule and time, making judgement calls about how to prioritize everyone’s
needs as they relate to the EIC, solving potential issues.
• Respond to emails/calls for Editor-in-Chief and take accurate and timely notes to assist the follow-up
process.
• Manage internal “Editors in the Market” calendar.
• Assist with writing articles for print and digital as directed by the EIC.
• Manage and coordinate special editorial projects.
• Manage schedules, communications and expenses.
• Book all aspects of travel.
Additional Responsibilities
• Other ad hoc administrative and team duties as reasonably requested.

• Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills; self-starter with a high degree of motivation
• Self-directed with flexibility to effectively manage multiple projects at a time
• Ability to anticipate needs and have extreme follow-through
