When Josephine (Abby Quinn) mysteriously falls ill\, older sister Bessie (Joey King) uncovers the unknown truth about radium: it’s a deadly poison. Bessie becomes determined to bring the horrors of radium poisoning to light and take down American Radium​\, a​s she fights not only for her sister\, but also for the rest of the women around her. \nLYDIA DEAN PILCHER \nLydia Dean Pilcher is a two-time Emmy winner and Academy Award nominee who has produced over thirty-five films\, including The Darjeeling Limited (Wes Anderson)\, Jesus’ Son (Alison Maclean)\, and eleven films with director Mira Nair\, including The Namesake\, Vanity Fair\, Amelia\, Mississippi Masala. Most recently she produced Queen of Katwe (for The Walt Disney Company) and HBO Films’ The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (starring Oprah Winfrey and Rose Byrne) and directed the WWII female spy thriller A Call to Spy (IFC Films). \nPresented by the School of Communication.
