I couldn’t have asked for better doctoral training than what I received at the University of Miami. I am particularly grateful to my doctoral advisor, Dr. Stacks, for his tremendous mentorship and guidance during my study and career.

Rita Linjuan Men is an associate professor of public relations at the University of Florida. Her research areas include internal communication, public engagement, measurement and evaluation, reputation management, and social media public relations.

She has published more than 30 articles in leading journals including Journal of Public Relations Research, Communication Research, Management Communication Quarterly, Public Relations Review, New Media and Society, and Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly. She also has published book chapters and is the lead author of the book Excellence in Internal Communication Management.

Men is currently the advisory board member for the International Public Relations Research Conference and the chief research editor for the Institute for Public Relations’ Organizational Communication Research Center.

Men is the recipient of many awards, including the 2010 Ketchum Excellence in Public Relations Research Award from the Institute for Public Relations, the 2013 – 2014 Arthur W. Page Legacy Scholar, as well as being named a Plank Scholar by the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations.

Men received her Ph.D. in 2012. She also earned an M.Phil. in communication from Hong Kong Baptist University and a B.A. in international communication from Zhejiang University in China.
