Katy Snell earned her B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Florida and her M.A. in Communications Management from Webster University.
After completing her B.S., Snell lived abroad in South Korea, working as an ESL teacher for 1st-6th Grade in Maegok Elementary School in Daegu. Upon returning to the U.S., she earned her M.A. while working as a Development Specialist for the Children's Home Society of Florida in South Daytona Beach. Also, she worked as the Asst. Property Manager for a large complex in Gainesville,Fl, where she partnered with the Chinese student association to secure housing for Chinese students studying abroad at the University of Florida.
Her research interests include intercultural communication, interpersonal communication, and strategic communication. Snell's experience living in Asia helped foster a strong desire to research the intricate relationship between Western and Eastern cultures, particularly in the areas of body image, gender issues and popular culture.
In her spare time, Snell enjoys exercising, studying Spanish and Korean and staying home with her pets.
