How to Apply as an International Student

Requirements for admission to graduate status for the Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts degree in the School of Communication are:

For complete information about the graduate program and admission requirements, M.A. and M.F.A. applicants should consult the Graduate Studies Handbook of the School of Communication and the University of Miami Graduate Bulletin. Only complete applications will be considered; full admission requires a complete application, including all test requirements.
Note: Admission to the graduate program does not guarantee admission to candidacy for the Master's degree, nor does it constitute an appointment to any position in the School of Communication or elsewhere within the University.
Application Deadlines:
Applications submitted by the December 1st deadline are being given priority review. However, applications may still be submitted for all graduate programs (Ph.D. in Communication, MFA in Motion Pictures, M.A. in Film Studies, M.A. in Communication Studies, M.A. in Print Journalism, M.A. in Television Broadcast Journalism, and M.A. in Public Relations). Assistantships may also be available following priority review.
The Master of Fine Arts degree offers programs in film production (cinematography, directing, editing), producing, and screenwriting. The School also offers a Spanish Language Masters program in Journalism (Periodismo). For information on these and all other programs, please go back to the previous page "Graduate Programs."
