B.S. in Communication
All students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication must first take a 5-course core, including a writing and overview courses in their major field of study (e.g., public relations, journalism). By their first semester, junior year, students must declare a second major. The School of Communication has five undergraduate programs which offer nine majors of study.

B.F.A. in Visual Journalism
The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Journalism is a special, inter-disciplinary program open only to a select number of students who have achieved a high academic record of performance. Offering courses in motion picture, broadcasting, multimedia and photography, the B.F.A. program culminates in a creative project in the student's chosen discipline.

University of Miami School of Communication
