Ph.D. Student

Dana Janbek is focusing her doctoral degree on political communication with emphasis on the Middle East region. She has presented papers on terrorism in regional conferences. Her research interests include global media and international communication. Prior to joining the University of Miami School of Communication, she worked for the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Washington, DC for three years. She earned her Masters of Arts in Political Science at the University of Louisville where she focused her thesis on factors affecting the success of immigrants. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication at Spalding University, Louisville, KY, while working with the immigrant community. Dana was born and raised in Jordan and is fluent in Arabic. Her favorite hobby is traveling and hopes to visit all the countries of the world.
