Professor, Public Relations

Dr. Harrison holds a Ph.D. from American University and taught at American University and the University of Maryland. Professional experience includes work as a journalist with The Baltimore Sun and the National Journal, and service on Capitol Hill as a congressional speechwriter. He worked in public relations with Martin-Marietta, the Vitro Corporation and served as a senior analyst with Institute for Defense Analysis and Research Analysis Corp. He was a Public Affairs Fellow at Stanford University. He is the author of six books, including: Cavalcade of Journalists 1900-2000; Twentieth Century Journalists: America's Opinionmakers; the Editorial Art of Edmund Duffy; and Mencken Revisited: Author, Editor & Newspaperman. He is the editor of Menckeniana, a quarterly journal dealing with H.L. Mencken.
