Valerie Manno Giroux, Ph.D. Lecturer, Communication Studies

Valerie Manno Giroux received her Ph.D. from the University of Miami in Educational Leadership /Administration and received her M.A. from the University of Miami in Speech Communication. The courses she has taught include: Leadership Studies, The Executive Communicator, Business Communication, Small Group Communication, Nonverbal Communication, and Public Speaking. Her recent research includes the effects of video streaming technology in the public speaking class room. The published article “Experimenting with Video Streaming Technology in a Public Speaking Course” (Dupagne, Manno Giroux, & Vieira, 2004) is available in Feedback, 45 (3), pp. 15-23. “Effects of Video Streaming Technology on Public Speaking Students’ Communication Apprehension and Competence” (Dupagne, Stacks, & Manno Giroux, 2005) was presented at the National Communication Association Convention, and may be obtained at vgiroux@miami.edu.
