Darlene Drummond, Ph.D. Assistant Professor, Communication Studies |
Darlene K. Drummond earned her Ph.D. from the Ohio State University in 2000 and joined the faculty of the Communication Studies Program as an assistant professor in the fall of 2004. She has taught a variety of courses including communication theory, persuasion, interpersonal communication, health communication, research methods and social support in health contexts. Dr. Drummond's research interests include examining social support in the context of chronic illness, ethnographic accounts of health and illness, intra-ethnic and intercultural communication encounters, and exploring the intersections of race, gender, and social class in a variety of contexts including health.
