Internship and job-hunting season has arrived. On March 28, University of Miami School of Communication’s Fourth Annual Communication Meet-Up will enable students and alumni to connect with professionals from a variety of communication fields.
On March 6, the Media Management Association (MMA) welcomed Devin Rogan, associate director at the University of Miami Toppel Career Center, to discuss personal LinkedIn branding strategy. Coming from a corporate recruiting background, Rogan fully understood the importance of LinkedIn as a valuable means of "showing off" one's professional image.
They took their talents from South Beach to Long Beach, Calif. for three days of workshops and networking, and to learn if two University of Miami publications would earn a “Best of Show” award.

For the first time in University of Miami history, two student packages have won the Best Of award from the Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts. The festival is an “international exhibition of award-winning faculty and student works,” according to the BEA website. Sophomore David Perez and freshman Danyel De Villiers won Best Of in the Television Sports Story/Feature category.
Eleven leading non-profit organizations from South Florida were chosen to participate in the Ninth Annual PhilADthropy at the University of Miami School of Communication, where students create vibrant campaigns and other advertising materials in one 25-hour, coffee-fueled marathon for some of the most deserving local non-profits.
