Coral Gables, FL (June 29, 2009) – School of Communication Alumnus Kyle Patrick Alvarez’s debut film, EASIER WITH PRACTICE, won the Best International Feature Prize at the 63rd Edinburgh International Film Festival on June 28.
Alvarez, who wrote and directed the film, graduated in 2005 and majored in motion picture production and English literature. The film stars Brian Geraghty and is based on a novelist who embarks on a promotional tour with his brother and receives a phone call from a stranger. The Edinburgh International Film Festival is one of the world’s first international film festivals and emphasizes new talent, discovery and innovation.
The film also won the Grand Jury Prize at the 11th Annual CineVegas Film Festival on June 14th. For more information about the film, visit: www.easierwithpractice.com.
